Description of Documentation and Archive Intern

The Documentation and Archive Intern will assist in the development and organization of Mujeres de Maiz (MdM) inventory from 1997-present, as well as associated inventory and materials.

 

Duties will include:

Creating Call out for Archival material and paraphernalia

Receiving Archival material and paraphernalia

Organizing material and paraphernalia in MdM's archive and conducting inventory

Digitizing (scanning and photographing) this archive inventory via digital photography and high grade scanning (working with professional or student photographers)

Transferring, digitizing and organizing film footage

Organizing zine images into archival data base

Organizing Written and Oral histories

Categorizing Historical Photographs and Images

Creating short edits of videos and photos for historical promotional purposes

Creating summary & marketing documents

Zine Art Item and tracking list of iconic and key artwork over the last 20 years (to include key information, dimensions, photo, etc.)

Visual Art Exhibit Item and tracking list of iconic and key artwork over the last 20 years

Working with artists to arrange photographing artwork.

 

Knowledge of Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, AfterEffects, photography, filmmaking and video editing skills a plus.

 

The goal of the Documentation and Archive Internship will work to support MdM with creating an archive for its upcoming 20th Anniversary projects and for future.  MdM is currently working towards three projects related to our 20 year anniversary.  They include 1) Retrospective Exhibit at Vincent Price Art Museum 2) An Exhibit Catalog accompanying the retrospective 3) A Academic and Memoir based Book Anthology documenting Mujeres de Maiz’ 20 years.

 

The Documentation and Archive Intern's work will directly impact these broader organizational goals and objectives.

 

Mujeres de Maiz projects include:

Creating a MdM Archive database with information regarding paraphernalia, artists, artwork, and importance

Documenting our Herstory through community and academically based initiatives.

 

The Documentation and Archive Intern will work directly with Mujeres de Maiz, Curator and Finance and Operations Director.

 

 

Description of Communications Intern

The Communications Intern will assist in the development and organization of Mujeres de Maiz Communications strategy both internally and externally/publically.

 

Duties will include:

Research and Synthesize best practices for internal communications

Research and Synthesize best practices for public communication strategies.

Contact Database Structuring

Research best practices

Input contacts/data

Strategies for growing the database

Communications strategy

Social Media strategy and output

Create Posts and Images for our social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Newsletter

Monthly newsletter highlighting MdM projects and programs.

Website support and development

Work closely with the MdM Finance and Operations Director on website additions, revisions and calendar updates

 

The goal of the Communications Intern will be to support MdM with creating and implementing  a comprehensive and integrated communications strategy and plan.

 

The Communications Intern work will directly be impacting these broader organizational goals and objectives.

Full integrated Social Media Platforms

Fully functional and integrated website

 

The Communications intern will work directly with Mujeres de Maiz, Executive Director and as well as the Finance and Operations Director.

 

 

Description of Programming Intern

The Programming Intern will assist in the development and organization of Mujeres de Maiz (MdM) Programs and Planning as an organization.

 

Duties will include:

Support in the implementation of the program vision

Logistics and Planning of Programming Efforts

Building of database of Sister and collaborating organizations

Evaluation of what programs are most cost-effective and popular

Research and develop best practices fir

 

The goal of the Programming Intern will work to support in the implementation of Mujeres de Maiz programming vision which seeks to infuse holistic wellness and artivism within all of our programming. The basis being a body, mind and spirit connection and balance.  All programming will align with this endeavor.

 

The Programing Intern work will directly be impacting these broader organizational goals and objectives of Mujeres de Maiz

 

Mujeres de Maiz projects include:

Year long programming in Holistic Wellness

Weekly After-school program for teenage girls based on Council and Indigenous Ways

 

MdM is also currently working towards three projects related to our 20 year anniversary.  They include 1) Retrospective Exhibit at Vincent Price Art Museum 2) An Exhibit Catalog accompanying the retrospective 3) An Academic and Memoir based Book Anthology documenting Mujeres de Maiz’ 20 years.  Related support on these connected endeavors will be encouraged.

 

The Programming Intern will work directly with Mujeres de Maiz, Executive Director.

 

 

Description of Development Intern

The Development Intern will assist in the development of Mujeres de Maiz (MdM) Fundraising and Grant Endeavors and Special Events.

 

Duties will include:

Build on Grant Database specific to MdM’s mission

Build on MdM’s Grant Calendar

Support the core staff to gather and categorize materials for development

Coordinate with Grand writers

Review and research past evaluations of events and programming

Gather and categorize testimonies and statements about MdM work

Institute updated evaluation practices (if necessary)

Research for-profit endeavors within non-profit world.

Work on MdM products and merchandising

Support the planning and coordination of future Crowdfunding Campaign

Support planning of Special Fundraising Events or Projects.

 

The goal of the Development Intern will work to support MdM with creating a Grants Database and New Ideas in Development Strategy including special events, for profit models, merchandise, and crowdsourcing.

 

MdM is currently working towards three projects related to our 20 year anniversary.  They include 1) Retrospective Exhibit at Vincent Price Art Museum 2) An Exhibit Catalog accompanying the retrospective 3) An Academic and Memoir based Book Anthology documenting Mujeres de Maiz’ 20 years. All of these will thrive with funding and support.

 

The Development Intern work will directly be impacting these broader organizational goals and objectives of Mujeres de Maiz and help develop funding paths.

Year-long programming in Arts education

Year long programming in Holistic Wellness

Weekly After-school program for teenage girls based on Council and Indigenous Ways

 

The Development Intern will work directly with Mujeres de Maiz, the Executive Director and the Finance and Operations Director

 

Media and Public Relations Intern

The Media and Public Relations intern will assist in the development and organization of Mujeres de Maiz Media and Public Relations strategy

 

Duties will include:

Develop an overall Public Relations & Media strategy

Research Media outlets and contacts

Input contacts/data

Write template press releases for various events

Create Posts and Images for sample advertisements or PSA’s

Write sample/template stories about MdM’s various programming

Pitch stories to media outlets (radio, print, TV)

 

Work closely with the MdM Marketing and Executive Director on media and PR strategy.

 

The goal of the Media and Public Relations Intern will be to support MdM with creating and implementing  a comprehensive and integrated media and public relations strategy and plan.

 

The Communications Intern work will directly be impacting these broader organizational projects

Description of Education Intern
The Education Intern will assist in the development and organization of Mujeres de Maiz (MdM) Programs and Planning as an organization.

 

Duties will include:

Support in the implementation of the Educational Vision

Logistics and Planning of Education Efforts

Building and promotion of Artivist and Wellness Network

Support in the research and development of MdM’s Arts Ed Curriculum

Development and planning of Artivist Support and Professional Development Classes and Roster of Facilitators

Resume, artist statements, photographing art

Research and Packaging of our Education Programs

Assembly Program

Women’s Conference Program

Video and Digital Media Intern

The Video and Digital Media intern will assist in the development and organization of Mujeres de Maiz Media video footage

 

Duties will include:

Digitizing miniDV to digital format

Organizing digital media

Assist in developing media output video clips

Create Posts and Images for sample advertisements or PSA’s

Pitch stories to media outlets (radio, print, TV)

 

The goal of the Video and Digital Media Intern will be to support MdM with several major projects.

 

Mujeres de Maiz projects include:

Book Anthology

Retrospective Exhibition

 

Required Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Final cut pro, Adobe Premier, or other video editing software

Experience in video editing and file organization. Must have own computer with necessary software.

 

The Video and Digital Media intern will work directly with Mujeres de Maiz, Executive Director as well as the Finance and Operations Director.
